Former Gaeil Colmcille footballer Denis O'Neill inspired John Mitchells to victory over Westmeath champions Moate in the All Ireland Club Junior Football Championship semi final today at Pairc Tailteann. The Liverpool club emerged victorious on a 1-9 to 1-6 scoreline.

O'Neill donned the number 9 jersey and bossed the midfield exchanges for most of the game. The Kellsman kicked the opening score of the second half and minutes later set up a crucial goal for the winners. The teams were deadlocked at the break 0-3 each.

O'Neill can now look forward to a big day at Croke park for the final where they will play either Brosna of Kerry or Rock of Tyrone.
