JHC and JHC2 to amalgamate in 2015

Moylagh captain Eamon Boyle raises the Meath JHC Cup to the delight of his team mates at Pairc Tailteann

In 2015 the Meath JHC and JHC 2 will be run off under the same umbrella, after a motion from the County Committee was accepted at the first meeting of 2015.

The top two teams in each of the top two groups will advance to the semi-finals of the JHC with the third and fourth teams making up the last four in the JHC 2.

Hurling teams will have seven league matches instead of five before. There will also be a new division, bringing the total of groups to four with games in Division 4 to be 13-a-side.

A number of bye-law rules were passed with a few of them stipulating fines of 200 euro for teams not fulfiling championship and league fixtures  being adopted.

Such procedures were described as housekeeping and another County Committee proposal that no team can be promoted or relegated to a higher or lower grade of championship if that club already has a team in the grade was passed.
