26 years have passed since our existing clubhouse was built and officially opened in 1988. Ireland as a whole, our community and club has seen many changes in that space of time. Due to the increased population in Dunshaughlin we no longer can facilitate the growth of our club with this existing structure so there was and is a great need for the build of a modern clubhouse facility for the current & future generations of our community.
We have come a long way in the past 3 years and with the help of our dedicated development committee, club volunteers and the generosity of the community a state of the art astro pitch along with a new grass pitch complete with lighting have successfully being constructed. Last week will go down as a historic chapter in our clubs history with the builders moving in and starting work on a self-build style by Dunshaughlin GAA Building Company Ltd.
As a whole this has to be viewed in a very positive light as works will be carried out by local companies, bringing employment to the area and investment into the community. The build of a new club house will no doubt act a focal point for our community for all ages with our door always open to boys and girls along with men and women who want to participate in Gaelic football bringing everyone in the community together in unity as 'one club'. This build will give future generations of our community a clubhouse that can Substantiate future growth and be a real investment in our children's future.
The scheme of works will see 'phase one' of our clubhouse completed by April and exciting times lie ahead. The starting of work to our clubhouse has not happened overnight and has been 15 years in the making of hard work and would not be possible without the community for their generosity and support . As a club we would be nowhere today without the hard work and dedication of our development committee who had the vision and belief to start this project and make this dream a reality
