Ratoath's Gearoid Hogan with Ryan Lacey Dunboyne during the Division 1 football final at Pairc Tailteann

A point in the last minute of extra time from Ross Reynolds was enough to clinch the Allianz Meath Cumann Na mBunscol Boys (15 a side) Division 1 title in the final game on a seven card programme at Pairc Tailteann

Dunboyne Senior Primary 1-11
Ratoath Senior Primary 3-4 (after extra time)

The champions of 2013, Ratoath, dominated the opening half. Corner forward Sean Buchanan was giving the Dunboyne defence a torrid time. The talented number 13 hit three first half goals while Evan Quinn added a point. Scores from Jamie Dowdall (2), and one apiece from midfielders Stephen Black and Alex Dunne kept Dunboyne in the game. Ratoath went in at the break 3-1 to 0-4 ahead.

As the lights came on Dunboyne closed the gap early in the second half with 1-1 from Ross Reynolds. Ratoath replied with points through Oisin McGee and Evan Weir but they proved to be their only scores of the half as Dunboyne took over with ten minutes remaining. Ciaran Lonergan and Simon Cunningham narrowed the gap before Darragh McGoldrick sent over a brace to tie the game and send it to extra time. Dunboyne 1-9 Ratoath 3-3.

Scores were at a premium for the two five minute periods of extra time. Alex Dunne got the only point in the first half only for Evan Weir to tie the game up once more early in the second period. Just when a replay seemed on the cards Reynolds raced through the Ratoath defence to send over the winner and the Division 1 cup was heading back to Dunboyne for the first time since 2008.
