Schools: First for Rathmore

Jane Cullen clears her lines for Rathmore during the Girls Division 5 final at Pairc Tailteann.

Rathmore were crowned Allianz Meath Cumann Na mBunscol Girls Division 5 (9 a side) champions with this comfortable victory over Newtown at Pairc Tailteann. This was the first year that Rathmore fielded a all girls team.

The winners were always in control. Goals from Aoibhe Walsh, Ella O'Toole (2) and Emma McGrath put them in to a commanding 4-3 to 0-1 lead at the break. Alanna Nulty kicked the first score of the second half for Newtown but from there on Rathmore took over. The impressive McGrath got her second and third goals and finished out the scoring with a fine point to give Eileen Rahill's team a comfortable win.
