Schools: Duggan inspires Dunboyne to victory

There was no stopping Dunboyne Senior Primary in todays Girls Division 1 final at Pairc tailteann

Dunboyne Senior Primary schools proved too strong for St Pauls of Navan in the Allianz Girls Division 1 Cumann na mBunscol football final at Pairc Tailteann.

Inspired by team captain Emma Duggan Dunboyne held their opponents scoreless in the opening half while registering 6-1. Jenny Kavanagh got the first of those six goals soon after the throw in and by the 20th minute the outstanding Duggan hit the Pauls net no less than five times. Leah Troy got the games first point as her side went in at the break in total control.

Whatever hope St Pauls had was quickly extinguished early in the second half. Kavanagh and Duggan hit 1-1each and a point from Honor Hickey put the game out of sight. The Navan school faired better in the closing stages and outscored Dunboyne 1-2 to 0-1. Laura McEnery got their opening score while Ellie McMyler got in for the goal.
