Ratoath's Conor Rooney

Holders Ratoath advanced to the Under 21 football championship final with this three point win over St Peters Dunboyne under lights in terrible conditions at Ashbourne.

Ratoath 1-5 St Peters Dunboyne 0-5

The opening half was a very low scoring affair. The winners went in at the break 0-2 to 0-1 ahead. Both Ratoath scores came from the boot of Bobby O'Brien. O'Brien was in fine form for the winners and he supplied the pass to set up Bryan McMahon for the games only goal. The boys in Blue and Yellow were reduced to 14 men early in the second have but defended brilliantly to hold on to the lead.

Ratoath were best served by Gavin and Jack McGowan, Brian and Mark Daly, Rob Waters, Colm Nugent, Bobby O'Brien, Brian Power, Conor McGill and Joey Wallace.

A final date with Navan O'Mahonys on Friday November 27th in Pairc Tailteann awaits Ratoath.
