Ladies U15 Div 2: Three first half goals undo St Michaels

Three first half goals paved the way for this Oldcastle victory in sunny Carlanstown on Saturday morning last.

St. Michaels 0-11, Oldcastle 3-9

The visitors got off to the best of starts and were 2-1 to 0-1 up at the end of the first quarter, they added a further1-2 in that opening half but St. Michaels battled back after Niamh Lynch opened the scoring with a point, the same player added a further 5 first half points and along with a point from Grainne McDonagh the home side were just 4 points adrift at the interval 0-8 to 3-3.

The second half lacked any bite with Niamh Lynch 0-2 and Emily Wyse 0-1 the only ones to find the target for St. Michaels. Oldcastle fired over a further 0-6 to run out easy winners in the end.

Clodagh Corcoran, Niamh Yore, Laura Halpin, Yvonne Farrelly and Shauna Harten were other who tried hard for St. Michaels.
