Mixed fortunes for Trim Camogie Club

Trim Junior Camogie team's run in the Junior Camogie Championship came to an end on Monday 18th August, after they suffered a heavy defeat to a strong Donaghmore/Ashbourne side. Trim lost the game in the first fifteen minutes when they allowed Donaghmore/Ashbourne score 4-7 without reply.

Darina Smith scored a goal and a point to leave the half time score at Donaghmore/Ashbourne 4-8 to Trim 1-1.
Trim gave a much improved performance in the 2nd half and added a goal from Mary Andrews and a point from Yvonne Maguire. Trim also had two goals disallowed in the 2nd half. However, the gap was too wide to bridge and the final score line read Trim 2-2 to Donaghmore/Ashbourne 6-11.

Trim Senior Camogie team's unbeaten run in the Senior Camogie Championship came to an end on Thursday 21st August after they were beaten by old rivals Kilmessan.  Kilmessan were by far the stronger team throughout.  Trim only managed one score in the 1st half which was a free converted by Christine Fagan.  The half-time score line read Trim 0-1 to Kilmessan 0-10.
Kilmessan continued to dominate in the 2nd half scoring 2-2 without reply. Trim can take some consolation in the outstanding performances of Anne Cole in goals, who made some excellent saves and also Sinead O'Connor who worked tirelessly throughout.  Final score: Kilmessan 2-17 to Trim 1-3

Trim Senior Camogie team returned to winning ways with an excellent win over Kiltale on Monday 25th August. Although Trim were the stronger team throughout, they only led by a point at half time with the score line reading Trim 0-6 to Kiltale 1-2.
However Trim dominated the second half, keeping Kiltale scoreless for the entire half. Shona White was excellent throughout scoring a personal tally of 1-6.  Overall this was a much improved team performance and Trim can now look forward  to the next round of the championship against Ratoath  on the 8th September.
