Dunboyne's Barry Watters

Na Fianna 2-07
St Peter's, Dunboyne 3-20

Na Fianna concluded their SHC group campaign with a loss against St Peter's, Dunboyne in Trim on Saturday. They gave a good account of themselves for long periods but the superior Dunboyne side pulled clear towards the end as they advanced to the knockout stages while Na Fianna face a relegation playoff against Navan O'Mahonys.

Na Fianna only trailed by five points at half time with Mark & Barry Slevin in sparkling form. Diarmuid Bailey opened the Na Fianna account with an excellent score on the run followed by a Barry Slevin free. Mark Slevin sent over two fine efforts as they kept on the coat tails of their opponents who were guilty of numerous wides. Barry Slevin netted the goal after a great run from midfield by Bailey who laid the ball to Slevin to dispatch to the net.

Na Fianna could only muster 1-01 in the second half and could never claw back the five point deficit. Mark Coffey surged through on goal and kicked to the net to give Na Fianna slim hope, while Peter Slevin scored a fine point. The final quarter saw the Dunboyne side pick off points at will as they eased to a convincing win.
