Drumconrath traveled the long distance to Ballivor in the last round of the B League in a game that had no effect on the Final table as both sides ended mid table.

A mix of youth and experience togged out for the Reds who seen John Martin play his 1st game in 3 years and Alan McEvoy play his 1st full game of the an injury troubled year and both men had fine games.

Stand in manager Jamie Myles made a great effort in getting a team out for the club who are proud of the fact that is a good number of years since they have conceded a walk over.

Not much separated the sides other than Ballivor's ability to take both goal chances offered to them in what was an entertaining game for the spectators in Sunny but Misty at times Ballivor.

Neither side got too carried away with the warm up and it was straight into the action as Ballivor kicked the first 2 points of the game and it was nip and tuck for the first 20 minutes as Eoin Martin, Padraig McMahon (2) and Gavin Finnegan all pointed as the sides where level 0-4 each.

Pado Farrelly seemed certain to net but his rasper rose and ended up as a point. Ballivor made a break for the win with 1-4 without reply and while Drums ended the half with a Damien Glass point it was the home side who led 1-8 to 0-6 at the break.

Peter McEvoy and Tomas Conlon came more into the game in the second and Drums enjoyed more of the play as Alan McEvoy and Conor O'Halloran where in good form at the back. Flying wing back Daniel Myles pointed early in the half and soon two Eoin Martin point narrowed the gap to 2 points.

Ballivor pointed a free but the Drums kept attacking as Martin pointed again. A break away goal put more daylight between the side as a fine sweeping move involving Conlon, Myles and O'Halloran ended with Peter Saul scoring the best point of the game. Ballivor ended the scoring as the light faded as both sides shook hands and headed for home or maybe to the Monday Night Threesome in Carrickmacross.
