Moyles and Grimley didn't see 'eye-to-eye'

Armagh manager Paul Grimley during his spell as a Meath selector.
Former Meath captain Anthony Moyles says Armagh manager Paul Grimley 'loves a bit of siege mentality'.

Grimley was part of Seamus 'Banty' McEnaney's management set-up with the Leinster outfit in 2011 and, speaking to the Irish Daily Star, Moyles admitted: "I probably wouldn't have seen eye-to-eye with Paul on some things.

"Certainly not the way we were playing and some of the personnel we had that year, I definitely didn't see eye-to-eye with him.

"Paul is a fella who wears his heart on his sleeve and he loves a bit of siege mentality.

"He would definitely love that and I suppose they're probably trying to foster that with the media ban and everyone going on (now).

"That siege mentality can work for some fellas and it doesn't work for everyone, but it's his prerogative I suppose, he is the manager.

"I suppose his position is slightly ... not under threat, but people would always look at (assistant) Kieran McGeeney there and say, as soon as Grimley goes, McGeeney will step into the breach.

"But they seem to have a good working relationship so we'll see."
