Na Fianna 1-7
Kiltale 1-5

Na Fianna camogs were under pressure going into this game as they needed to obtain championship points.

With key players missing from the panel, Na Fianna knew they had their work cut out to secure a win. The home pitch was in excellent condition which allowed a superb, free flowing game from the start. Both teams put on an exhibition of camogie which was a pleasure to watch.

From the start, Na Fianna dominated with Shauna Ennis leading the way from midfield which gave Emma Coffey the opportunity to register their first score with a point from play in the first minute. In the eight minute, Kiltale's Donna McGann spotted a gap in the Na Fianna's defence and struck the ball to the back of the net. Na Fianna's centre back Claire Coffey won possession from Mary Reilly's puck out and stormed up the pitch to notch up a point from play. Kiltale worked the ball up the pitch which allowed Donna McGann add a point to their tally. Na Fianna had plenty of scoring opportunities which they failed to convert with this; Kiltale gained confidence and posed a threat when in possession. They were awarded a free for tenacious defending by Na Fianna which resulted in a point for Kiltale. Shauna Ennis was on the move again, she ran straight through Kiltale's backs to bring Na Fianna's tally up to four points. Emma Coffey slotted another free over the bar and dropped a free in front of Clare Flynn which Clare Flynn tapped in for a goal. Half time score: Na Fianna 1-4, Kiltale 1-2.

The second half started at a frantic pace with Kiltale being first to score. They then followed up with another point from play by Cheyene O'Brien. This put both teams level. It was time for Na Fianna to up the ante and that is exactly what they did as Clare Flynn added a point from play and Emma Coffey slotted a free over the bar. Kiltale's Donna McGann scored their last score of the game. Emma Coffey added another point to Na Fianna's score allowing Na Fianna win by two points. The Na Fianna team from one to fifteen played out of their skin. Six of the Na Fianna camogs played a football championship game the previous Saturday so it is a credit to them that they produced the performance they did.
