U16: Great win for Oldcastle

April 14, 2014
Oldcastle 10-16
Gaeil Colmcille 0 - 4

Fresh from captaining the St Oliver's Post Primary School to Leinster Success Jason Scully inspired Oldcastle to make in two wins from as many outings.

Oldcastle where quick out of the blocks and Scully scored all the opening scores and had 2-3 within ten minutes. The Kells lads tried hard to break down the home defence but Keith Connell, Mossy Flood and Sean Martin were solid as a rock. The Oldcastle forwards were showing no mercy and finished a wind assisted first half in style to leave the score 6-9 to 0-2 at the break.

The second half followed the pattern of the first with Jason Scully finishing to the net. The midfield pairing of Steven Lawless and Oran O'Reilly were putting in a good performance and set up numerous scores. Ronan Taggart who had switched to play in goals at half time was doing very well gathering a lot of loose ball in the full back line and his distribution was great setting up attacks right from his own goal line. With the game in the bag Oldcastle withdrew Jason Scully and Mossy Flood however this didn't stop the score board ticking over with Kyle Kavanagh and Oran O'Reilly pointing a free a piece and James Caffrey grabbing his second goal late on.

It was a great team performance with Jason Scully, Mossy Flood, Keith Connell and Oran O'Reilly leading the way.
