It was Moylough who registered the first scores of this local derby but St Brigids were quick to reply through a point from AJ Gilsenan.

Stephen Skelly then caught a high ball in front of the Moylough goals and laid it off to AJ who put the ball over the bar.

Moylough then had a period of dominance in which they scored 4 points but St Brigids rallied together and worked hard until the with points from Skelly and Brian Briody. Michael Flood also got in on the scoring with two fine points which ensured that St Brigids had a two point lead at half time.

AJ Gilsenan converted a free after half time when Hugh Fanning was fouled. Oisin Kiernan scored another point from a free after his brother Killian was fouled and the Brigids looked in control at this stage but Moylough regrouped and added three points in quick succession. Killian got St Brigids back on track with two well taken points from play. Michael Flood added a final point for St Brigids and they had a three point lead at this stage.

St Brigids tightened up their defence but Moylough managed to score two more points and the scene was set for a thrilling finish. Moylough were awarded a free in the last minute of the game and it looked as if it would be a draw game.

The ball was on its was over the bar but goalkeeper Daragh Geraghty rose high from his line and caught the ball. He managed to work the ball out of the defence and the referee black blew the full time whistle. St Brigids won on a scoreline of 13 points to 12. Stephen Browne,Michael Flood and Karl Kiernan impressed for St Brigids.
