St Vincents got off to a great start going five points up after seven minutes.
Declan O Sullivan and Colly Andrews getting a point each and Shane O Brien finishing to the back of the net. Castletown responded with a goal and four points without reply to lead by two points with fifteen minutes gone. Colly Andrews then pointed to leave the minimum in it. Two minutes later after a scramble in the square Ritchie O Sullivan fisted the ball to the back of the net to put the Vincents back in front. Two more points from the O Sullivan brothers put them further ahead. Castletown then cancelled them out with two points of their own before Colly Hand finished the first half scoring with a good point which left the Ardcath men leading by three points at half time.

Castletown got the first two points of the second half before the in form Declan O Sullivan converted another pointed free. Castletown then kicked four points in the next five minutes to put them into the lead again. A point each from O Sullivan and Fox leveled the game again before Declan O Sullivan scored St Vincent's third goal of the game. Both teams traded points with Declan O Sullivan getting the Vincent's score. A minute later the teams were level yet again when Castletown got their second goal. The followed that up with two more points. Shane O Brien pulled a point back for the home side but they were unable to find what would have been a deserved equalizer in what was a very entertaining game.
