Mayo officials are due to sit down with player representatives tomorrow (Thursday) following the no confidence vote in joint-managers Noel Connelly and Pat Holmes.

County chairman Mike Connelly, a brother of Noel, admitted the county is in crisis after the players delivered the outcome of the vote to the management on Sunday while reports today suggest Connelly and Holmes have no intention of stepping down.

"We're in a bad place at the moment," the chairman told The Irish Daily Star.

"We've got to open up negotiations with players to find out exactly what has caused this problem. We have a process to eliminate anything like this happening."

Mayo secretary Vincent Neary added: "We need to tease out this total bombshell. There is a process in place to avoid all this and no reasons were given as to why this happened.

"The management haven't been told why there is a vote of no confidence in them and that's disappointing."

Reports in the Connaught Telegraph indicate that the players are split on the issue with All-Star defender Lee Keegan apparently opposed to the heave against the outgoing management.
