Mayo defender Colm Boyle admits that losing the 2013 All-Ireland SFC final is still fresh in the memory.

Boyle has the chance of gaining some degree of revenge for that defeat when they take on the Dubs in the All-Ireland SFC semi-final this Sunday.

The hurt of seeing the Dublin players picking up the Sam Maguire on that occasion is a memory that Boyle will not forget in a hurry.

"Obviously the dejection of the final whistle going and the disappointment, the raw disappointment," Boyle told the Western People.

"You've to look at Dublin lifting the cup and it's hard to take. But on the day I think Dublin did deserve their victory. They did that small bit more than us to just nick it.

"Looking back on it now it's a bit of a blur. I know for a lot of the game, especially the first half, it was fairly frantic. It was just one end to the other."
