Mayo's Cora Staunton

Scoring machine Cora Staunton was on target with 2-10 as Mayo eased to a comfortable 4-15 to 0-3 TG4 All-Ireland qualifier victory over Tyrone in Ballinamore yesterday.

The Carnacon ace his 2-7 from play to help the Connacht side bounced back from the disappointment of their provincial final defeat to Galway.

Fiona McHale and Aoife Brennan also found the back of the Red Hands net and Munster champions Kerry will now have to come up with a plan to curb the influence of the nine-time All-Star who scored 1-15 in the loss to Galway.

The match also saw the return of former All-Star Claire Byrne following a lengthy injury.
