Cora Staunton may have set a new scoring record in ladies football yesterday.

The 33-year-old underlined her status as the most prolific forward the sport has ever seen when she scored an eye-watering 9-12 for Carnacon in a club game.

Staunton has been in a rich vein of form of late and posted 1-15 in Mayo's narrow defeat to Galway in last Sunday's Connacht final.
