Mayo manager Sean McLoughlin hailed his players following their Connacht JFC final win over Galway last Sunday.

McLoughlin admitted to the Mayo News that it was a marvellous achievement for them to lift the title, having beaten the two best sides in the championship.

"I'm extremely proud," said McLoughlin. "It's great to win a Connacht title, beating the holders Sligo and now Galway. We haven't even thought about anything beyond this game, but we're happy with this success and we're looking forward to the semi-final now. We'll plan the route ahead in the coming weeks.

"We'll approach the All-Ireland semi-final in the same way we approached Sligo and Galway. We'll prepare as well as we can, we'll hopefully have a clean bill of health and we'll take it from there."
