Mayo ladies football trainer Kevin Walsh has been hit with a massive five-year ban.

Mayo ladies football trainer Kevin Walsh has been hit with a massive five-year ban arising from an incident which took place at the end of the recent National League game against Kerry.

The county board has also been fined €600 after referee John Niland reported Walsh for verbal abuse that was directed towards him at full-time.

Mayo chairperson Yvonne McEvilly explained to the Western People: "There was an incident after the Kerry game, the referee reported it and the National Disciplinary body dealt with it. We want to make it clear that nobody involved in Mayo ladies football condones such behaviour.

"We discussed it at our county board meeting during the week and everyone in Mayo football is of the same mind."
