Hurlers back in action

March 04, 2015

Following a break last weekend, the Mayo hurlers continue their NHL Division 2B campaign with a home tie against Down on Sunday.

MacHale Park is the venue for this clash and Mayo manager JP Coen will be looking for a response to their defeat to Meath last time out.

This is another tough assignment for the Connacht side and although Down are without the retired Paul Braniff and Gareth Johnson, they are still a formidable side.

Coen has a strong squad to choose from and only dual star Keith Higgins is unavailable as he will be leading the footballers out at the same time.

Mayo are currently third in the table and win here would keep them in the hunt for promotion, but a defeat could see them in a relegation battle.
