Connacht Council secretary John Prenty wants Hawk-Eye installed at either Elvery's MacHale Park in Castlebar or Pearse Stadium in Salthill.

Last weekend, Central Council gave the green light for Hawk-Eye to be adopted permanently at Croke Park and to be rolled out at Semple Stadium, Pairc Ui Chaoimh and Casement Park (the latter two are being redeveloped), which would leave Connacht as the only province not to have the score detection technology.

"I am sure this won't be the end of the road as far as Hawk-Eye is concerned and it will be rolled out to other provincial venues in the future. My hope is that a Connacht venue will be prioritised in the next phase," Prenty said in the Irish Examiner.

"We will have to be included in the future. There is going to be very important games played in Connacht venues in the years ahead. I can understand the thinking behind what happened last Saturday, but we can't be overlooked in the future. We can't be overlooked forever.

"We have suitable venues like Castlebar and Galway where an All-Ireland football quarter-final could be played next year. They won't have Hawk-Eye installed at Pairc Ui Chaoimh next year or at Casement Park."
