Cork's claims that Mayo are experts at 'tactical fouling' isn't going to distract the Connacht champions from the important business of preparing for Sunday's All-Ireland SFC quarter-final at Croke Park.

Rebel selector Ronan McCarthy has upped the ante ahead of the last eight clash by claiming that Mayo forwards Cillian O'Connor and Kevin McLoughlin regularly get away with deliberate fouling.

County spokesperson Aiden McLaughlin confirmed to the Irish Daily Star that manager James Horan is aware of McCarthy's comments but stated: "Mayo teams would never be classed as cynical or nasty down through the years - quite the opposite,

"We are a footballing county and we always have been. All the top referees do their job as prescribed to them.

"He (McCarthy) is entitled to his opinion but we are just focusing on our game and that's it."
