Mayo minor captain Cian Hanley is eager to make up for the disappointment of missing out on last year's All-Ireland MFC final win through injury.

Hanley will lead his side out against Roscommon in the Connacht final this Sunday afternoon and although he is not looking beyond that match for the time being, last year's disappointment is still gnawing at him.

"It was disappointing not be involved last year," Hanley admitted to the Western People. "But that's where you want to be again. Now I have another chance to do that, the experience me and the older boys from last year's team have, to try and drive on the younger boys to get back to that place.

"So there'd be a bit of personal motivation but for the team too, that's where we want to strive to. The shoulder is completely fine now. I took longer out, to make sure I was fully ready, so it's all gone now, gone to the back of the head."
