Mayo defender Donal Vaughan feels that they must produce a much improved performance against Derry in Sunday's NFL semi final.

The Connacht side did beat the Oakleaf County last Sunday to book their semi final spot, but it was a much changed Derry side as they were already through to the last four.

And Vaughan stressed to the Mayo News that if they want to advance to the final, then there must be a marked improvement this weekend.

"We'll be looking for a much better performance," said Vaughan. "If we play next Sunday like we did the last day, we'll be beaten. It's as simple as that.

Mayo are still without Kenneth O'Malley, Chris Barrett and Alan Dillon who are on the long term injured list, but otherwise have a full strength squad to choose from.
