SEAN O'MAHONYS 1-6
DUNDALK GAELS 0-9
Sean O'Mahonys and Dundalk Gaels must meet again to decide who will face either Dreadnots or Nh Mairtin in the Louth Senior Championship semi-final after as late Sean Murray point saw this encounter end all square.
A goal early the second half looked to have been enough to send the county champions through in a tense battle at Dowdallshill on Sunday evening, but they were denied victory when Murray landed a pressure kick right at the death.
The Gaels had the better of the proceedings in the firsts half and edged into a 0-3 to 0-1 lead after ten minutes thanks to scores from David Moloney, Sean McCann and Gerard McSorley.
Conor Finnegan had got the Seans off the mark, and his side drew level on 17 minutes through Kilcoyne and Ben McLaughlin.
The Gaels then enjoyed a purple patch and with Eanna McArdle (2), Moloney and Sean Murray all on target, they went 0-7 to 0-3 in front after 25 minutes. Crucially the O'Mahonys were able to respond before the break as Kilcoyne and Finnegan cut the gap to 0-7 to 0-5.
The Point Road side then seized the initiative in the opening minute of the second half when Conor Crawley knocked down a high ball for Kilcoyne to fire home and put his side in the lead for the first time.
A Stephen Fisher point on 42 minutes saw the champions increase the gap to 1-6 to 0-7 and it looked as if that might be enough to hang on to victory as the Gaels kicked a series of wides.
After Sean McCann and Conor Crawley were dismissed for their respective sides, the Gaels finally found their shooting boots when McSorley pointed a free on 58 minutes before Murray held his nerve to send over the equaliser.
The O'Mahonys almost snatched victory in the dying seconds but Barry Mackin saw his fisted effort go wide of the post.
