U21 Q/F: Our under 21 team who we are combined with Naomh Fionnbarra had a five point victory over the Newtown Blues last Wednesday night in the quarter final of the championship. Playing with the breeze in the first half the boys built up a good lead with goals from Jack Butterly and a brace from Cian Doyle.  An absolutely brilliant save from our keeper John McLoughlin helped keep the opposition at bay to leave the score at the break 3-6 to 0-2. The home team piled on the pressure in the second half and we did not score for twenty minutes by which time the margin was down to six between the sides, but points from Doyle and Robert Quigley steadied the ship and the team advanced to a semi-final meeting with the Oliver Plunketts.
Team: John McLoughlin; Brendan Simms, Kiernan Lenihan, Patrick McGrane; Conor Lenihan, Hugh Osbourne, Chris McGlynn; Ciaran O'Brien, Conor Kiernan; Dean Corrigan 0-1, Robert Quigley 0-3(3f), James Clerkin; Cian Doyle 2-3, Jack Butterly 1-1, Brendan Murphy. Subs Cian Geeney for J. Clerkin, Micheal Cairns for B. Simms, Michael McArdle for D. Corrigan.
U21 S/F: Our under 21 team have qualified for the championship final for the second year running. They had an eleven point victory over the Oliver Plunketts last Sunday morning, it did take them a while to get on the score sheet but the goals rolled in when they did, with Cian Doyle helping himself to 5-4 from the tally of 7-6 that the team scored. It was a good performance from all the team especially as they had to play for 40 minutes with only 14 on the field having a man sent off near the end of the first half. They will now play Hunterstown/Collon/Glen Emmets combination in the final with venue, date and time to be confirmed.
