Naomh Fionnbarra & St. Annes Club Notes

There was no jackpot winner in Naomh Fionnbarra G.F.C. and St. Anne's Camogie Club Lotto draw held on Wednesday 16th September.  The winning numbers were 1, 12, 13, 28. There were 2 match 3 winners Joseph Callaghan, Martinstown, Togher and Ann Kelly c/o Mary Connor who won €75 each.  Next weeks jackpot stays at €10,000, with the reserve jackpot rising to  €4,300.   Tickets are available from the usual local outlets, Lotto sellers and any committee member.  Funds raised from our Lotto draw go towards the running of the club and your support is greatly appreciated.

On Thursday 17th September the Naomh Fionnbarra U-13 beat Glen Emmets 4-4(16) to 2-3(9) in Division 4 League Round 7 at John Markey Park.  Well done to the lads who are now through to the Division 4 League Final.

On Friday 18th September the Naomh Fionnbarra/Lannleire U-15 team lost to Oliver Plunketts 3-12(21) to 1-11(14) in Division 3 League Round 6 at Páirc Uí Mhuirí, Dunleer.  Hard luck lads.

A big well done to the Naomh Fionnbarra Junior team who beat Stabannon Parnells 1-8(11) to 0-4(4) in the Louth Junior Championship Semi Final on Saturday 19th September in Haggardstown.  The lads now play Roche Emmets in the Louth Junior Championship Final on Sunday 11th October at a venue to be confirmed.  Please spread the word and get the flags and bunting up around the parish.  Up the Barrs!

Our Naomh Fionnbarra/Lannleire minor combination play in the Louth Minor U-18 B Championship Semi Final v Clan na Gael on Wednesday 23rd September in Darver at 7:30pm.  Please come out and support the lads.  Up the Barrs.

The club are delighted to announce that Enda Murphy one of Ireland's best known Cognitive Behavioral Therapists (CBT) is holding a talk on Promoting Mental Fitness in Teenagers and Children on Wednesday 23rd September in Dillonstown Hall 8.30pm.  Enda is a project director of the CBT training program with the Irish College of General Practitioners, is assistant director of training with the Health Service Executive North East General Practitioner Training scheme and is actively involved in the development and delivery of CBT training in Ireland. He is also a regular contributor to the medical press in both Ireland and China where he operates CBT clinics. Enda works extensively with GPs and the Mental Health services in the treatment of depression and anxiety and often presents to international medical conferences. He has also published a book titled: Five Steps to Happiness: Learning to Explore & Understand Your Emotional Mind.

Naomh Fionnbarra Ladies GFC will be holding a Fundraising Clothes' Collection on Sat 3rd Oct from 9am-3pm in the Naomh Fionnbarra Clubrooms, Ballygassan. Please donate all your clean unwanted clothes also bed linen, towels, curtains, shoes, bags, belts and soft toys. We need to reach a min target of 200kg so everyone's support would be greatly appreciated. A chance to do that long over due spring clean while supporting your local club. Please spread the word to family, friends & neighbours too!!!

Congratulations to club members Mark McArdle and Joseph O'Reilly who won tickets in our club members draw to the All-Ireland Football Final on Sunday.  The game itself was a poor affair and on a day for the ducks we hope the lads had plenty of wet gear!

The club would like to express our deepest sympathy to the family of Frank McDermott, Dundalk who passed away recently.
