Championship: We were knocked out of the championship on Sunday night by the Joe Ward holders in Dunleer. We were second best on the night and apart from the first 25 minutes we never looked like we could win it. The men from Lordship were in command in all parts of the field and at times seemed to be able to double mark and sometimes treble mark our key players. It was a disappointing defeat and all but finishes our season with only one league game remaining against the Dreadnots next Saturday night.

Team: Sean Connolly; Andrew Shields, Conor Byrne, PJ Tuite; Jason Carroll, Jackie Agnew, Keith Ryan; Sean Cairns, Conor McGill; Paul McKeever, Niall Conlon 0-1(f), Salem Rifaie; Robert Quigley 0-4(1f), Cian Doyle 0-2(2f), Stuart Reynolds 0-2(1f). Subs Micheal Cairns for A. Shields, David Hoey for PJ Tuite, TJ Doyle for P. McKeever.

Under 13, 20/8/15:  Away to Cooley never an easy place to go but we travelled with good numbers and felt we could pick up some points from this game. Playing against a strong wind on a bad night we certainly didn't get the start we would have liked with Cooley's first two scores being goals and this really put us on the back foot and left us with a huge challenge to get back into the game. We did manage a goal of our own from Sean Reynolds but that was quickly cancelled out when Cooley hit another goal. The half time score was O'Connell's /Stab 1-2 to Cooley 3-1.
The second half saw us come back to life and we caused Cooley all kinds of trouble and with our constant pressure we hit the net on three occasions and for a brief period were in the lead. We then lost Lee Molloy to a black card and also Harry Butterly who was not feeling well, this upset the rhythm of the team and we conceded a very slack goal during this period. We battled hard, but with Cooley introducing fresh players from the line we just couldn't get back into the game. Disappointing result and although we made Cooley work hard, the slow starts in these games are really hindering our chances. Final score O'Connell's/Stabannon 5-2, Cooley Kickhams 5-5.
For O Connell's were Niall Kennedy, Anton Mc Areavy, killian wall, Lee Molloy, Jamie Molloy, Jack Dunne, Tadgh Kearney, Dirmuid Martin,Darragh mc Donnell, Reece Reilly.

U12 Div.1 Final, 25/8/15: Playing out of division1 all year this was a tremendous achievement for us to get to this final but unfortunately we were missing three of our star defenders due to holidays which was a shame for the lads in question as they were great throughout the year. Played in Darver on what was a terrible night of rain we were up against a Clans team that we played a number of weeks back in Dundalk and they beat us on that occasion by four points so we knew nothing was going to be easy is this Final. The game started at a tremendous pace with both teams pushing forward in search of those early scores. The clans were particularly tall around the middle and bombarded our defence and only for some great saves by our goal keeper we would have been in terrible trouble. The Clans did score first with a goal and it did seem to settle them and the good crowd of support they had got behind them and they got the next few points before we registered our first score. We found it very hard to cope with the strength of the Clans and they tagged on two more goals before the break which left the score at half time O'Connell's/Stab 0-2 to Clans 3-3. With weather conditions getting worse and the introduction of more fresh subs by the opposition which they seemed to have in abundance, they really put us to the sword and focused on goals more so than points and although our keeper tried really hard and our defence we could not stop the constant threat. We never stopped trying and were rewarded with a goal of our own from Sean Reynolds and with time running out we even managed to give our two subs who were under 10's a run out which they really enjoyed. Final score was O'Connell's/Stabannon 1-5 to Clans 8-8. This was a particularly hard defeat for a good few of our lads as it was there last U12 appearance as they move on in age, but the whole team can be very proud of themselves and this will certainly be a good learning curve for them going forward. We have wonderful potential at this age and if the lads keep at it and commit to training and the parents keep encouraging them it won't be long before we see silverware with this bunch of lads.
Team was Darragh Mc Donnell, Dirmuid Martin, killian Wall, Johnny Mc Gee, Calium woods, Tadgh Kearney, Sean Reynolds, Jack Dunne, Reece Reilly, Harry Butterly, Emmett Carroll, Nathan Carragher, Andrew Hurley. Subs were Jamie Hughes and Conor Ewing.
