Naomh Fionnbarra & St. Annes Club Notes

There was no jackpot winner in Naomh Fionnbarra G.F.C. and St. Anne's Camogie Club Lotto draw held on Wednesday 26th August.  The winning numbers were 8, 9, 14, 26. There were 3 match 3 winners Peggy Gaffney, Pat Sharkey, Tullydonnell and Margaret Ferressy who won €50 each.  Next weeks jackpot stays at €10,000, with the reserve jackpot rising to  €3,850.   Tickets are available from the usual local outlets, Lotto sellers and any committee member.  Funds raised from our Lotto draw go towards the running of the club and your support is greatly appreciated.

The club are delighted to announce that Naomh Fionnbarra U-14 girls along with the help of some excellent Stabannon players have reached the Championship Final! Thanks to all who showed their support on the night and a huge well done to all players who put in a great performance to beat Glen Emmets. Hope to see lots of green & yellow flags around Togher & Stabannon over the coming weeks. A special thanks to O'Neills Bakery for sponsoring their lovely new jerseys.  The final v St. Patricks is on Saturday 5th Sept at 1.30pm.

On Friday 21st August the Naomh Fionnbarra/Lannleire U-18 team beat O'Raghallaigh 3-11(20) to 2-8(12) in Division 3 League Round 9 at The Gaelic Grounds, Drogheda.  Well done lads.

On Tuesday 25th August the Naomh Fionnbarra U-12 team beat Glyde Rangers/Westerns/Sean McDermotts combination 4-6(18) to 3-7(16) in the Final of the Division 3 League B Competition at Darver.  Well done lads.  By all accounts it was a great win, an exciting match, and a huge effort was made by all. Big thank you to the parents, supporters and to the Glyde Inn who looked after the team after the match. Up the Barrs.

On Wednesday 26th August the Naomh Fionnbarra/Lannleire U-18 team beat the O'Connells/Stabannon Parnells/John Mitchells combination 1-17(20) to 2-6(12) in the Louth Minor B Championship Group 2 Round 3 at The Grove, Castlebellingham.  The lads are now through to the Quarter Finals, well done to all.

On Thursday 27th August the Naomh Fionnbarra U-15 team beat St. Josephs 5-21(36) to 1-5(8) in Division 3 League Round 5 at Páirc Uí Mhuirí, Dunleer.  Well done lads.

Completing a week of wins, on Sunday 30th August the Naomh Fionnbarra Junior team beat St. Kevins 3-9(18) to 1-8(11) in the Louth Junior Championship Quarter Final at Stabannon.  The lads are now through to the semi finals and await the winners of the Stabannon Parnells/John Mitchells Quarter Final which was a draw, well done lads.  The lads play the final Round of the Division 2 League next Saturday eveing 5th September v Cooley Kickhams at John Markey Park, Ballygassan and still have a chance of getting into the top 5 play-offs.

Naomh Fionnbarra Ladies GFC will be holding a Fundraising Clothes' Collection on Sat 3rd Oct from 9am-3pm in the Naomh Fionnbarra Clubrooms, Ballygassan. Please donate all your clean unwanted clothes also bed linen, towels, curtains, shoes, bags, belts and soft toys. We need to reach a min target of 200kg so everyone's support would be greatly appreciated. A chance to do that long over due spring clean while supporting your local club. Please spread the word to family, friends & neighbours too!!!

Naomh Fionnbarra Ladies GFC would also like to thank everyone who supported their recent Chrch Gate collection at Togher, Dillonstown and Dysart Churches.

The club would like to give our best wishes to one of our players Bernard Osborne who got married to Denise Caffrey on Friday 28th August and wish them health and happiness in the future. 

The club would like to express it's sincere gratitude to all supporters who joined our Club Barrs' Membership 2015-2017.  There are 50 members at present and new members are welcome throughout the year, please contact Colm- 0878317500 or Brenda 086-3739449 for further information.  Club Barrs' Sports Tops have been distributed to most members over the last few weeks.  The exclusive Club Barr's Raffle for All Ireland Tickets (Football & Hurling) took place recently at an Executive Meeting and the winners were Tommy Casey, Annagassan - Hurling and John Sheehy, No. 3 The Saltings, Annagassan - Football.  Congratulations to both.
