Duffy confident of Wee win

Bevan Duffy Louth gets the better of Wexford's Paddy Byrne in Div 3 league game in Drogheda

Bevan Duffy is confident Louth can upset Tipperary in the SF Qualifiers.

The Wee County will travel to Thurles for their second-round back-door assignment and Duffy, who was immense during his side's victory over Leitrim on Saturday evening, sees no reason why they can't progress to the next round:

"They are all tough games now but you have got to play these teams with nothing to fear," the St Fechins clubman says in The Irish Daily Mirror. "We were probably favourites against Leitrim and more than likely we will be underdogs for the next one.

"How we react to that tag is up to us but we have got two weeks now to prepare and get our stuff in order. We trust in our management to put the game plan in place that will inevitably lead to us winning the game."

Regarding last weekend's seven-point success at Drogheda, Duffy adds: "It was badly needed, it has been a tough season in general. We have been under pressure after a poor O'Byrne Cup and a poor league. Losing so easily to Westmeath, we needed to put in a performance, we needed a win and credit to the lads we all pulled together and pulled through. We needed that win massively."
