Naomh Fionnbarra & St. Annes Club Notes

There was no jackpot winner in Naomh Fionnbarra G.F.C. and St. Anne's Camogie Club Lotto draw held on Wednesday 24th June.  The winning numbers were 1, 11, 22, 28. There were 2 match 3 winners Julia Clinton, Martinstown and Aileen Casey, farm Road, Annagassan, who each won €75.  Next weeks draw takes place on Wednesday 1st July and the jackpot stays at €10,000, with the reserve jackpot rising to  €2,950.   Tickets are available from the usual local outlets, Lotto sellers and any committee member.  Funds raised from our Lotto draw go towards the running of the club and your support is greatly appreciated.

Naomh Fionnbarra Ladies G.F.C. would like to welcome O'Neill's Bakery Annagassan on board as their main sponsor for the next 3 years. O'Neills presented the Ladies' team with a new set of jerseys at the recent Naomh Fionnbarra Family Fun Day. O'Neills Bakery est. in 1920's is known far and wide for it's fine bread, cakes and confectionery.  They specialise is using original recipes and traditional baking methods which have been passed down form generation to generation.  Over the years O'Neill's Bakery have been very supportive of Naomh Fionnbarra G.F.C. and the Ladies section of the club would like to thank them for their commitment and generosity.  Pictured above are Ladies Player - Sophie Turley, Ladies Chairwoman - Maria Butterly, O'Neill's Bakery Representative - John O'Neill and Ladies Secretary Ashley Callaghan. 

On Monday 22nd June the Naomh Fionnbarra/Lannleire U-18 team suffered a 3-8(17) to 6-7(25) defeat to Glen Emmets in Division 3 League Round 4 at Pairc Mhuire, Dunleer.  Hard luck lads.

On Friday 26th June the Naomh Fionnbarra U-12 team recorded a 5-15(30) to 4-0(12) win over Naomh Martin in Division 3 League Round 5 at Monasterboice.  Well done lads.

Naomh Fionnbarra Junior 2 team had a good win over Mattock Rangers in Division 4B League Semi Final at John Markey Park on Sunday at 12 o'clock after extra time. Half time score Naomh Fionnbarra 1-6(9) Mattock Rangers 0-5(5) Full time score: Naomh Fionnbarra 1-10(13) Mattock Rangers 1-10(13), Final score after extra time: Naomh Fionnbarra 1-12(15) Mattock Rangers 1-11(14).  Naomh Fionnbarra scorers: Bernard Osborne 0-6, Máirtín Murphy 1-1, Jack Butterly 0-2, Allan Connor 0-2 & Nicholas Butterly 0-1.  Naomh Fionnbarra Team: Shane O'Brien, Brendan Simms, James Butterly, Hugh McGrane, Liam McDonnell, Shane Fanning, Chris McGlynn, Colin McGrane, Nicholas Butterly, Máirtín Murphy, Andy McCann, Bernard Osborne, David Woods, Jack Butterly, Allan Connor.  Subs:  Michael McArdle for Liam McDonnell, Brendan Murphy for Allan Connor, Pádraig Murphy for David Woods.  The lads are now through to the final v Kilkerley Emmets on Saturday 4th July at 7pm, venue to be confirmed.

Hard luck to Naomh Fionnbarra Ladies team in their recent 9-a-side final last Wednesday, unfortunately the Geraldines were victorious in what was a tough battle 1-4(7) to 1-12(15). Thank you to all that came out to support them. Onwards & upwards as they prepare for the championship on 26th July v Geraldines again!!!

Well done to St. Anne's Camogie team in their recent 9-a-side final last Sunday, when they were victorious over Mattock Rangers 2-10(16) to 2-6(12).

St. Anne's Camogie Club are holding a cake sale in Dillonstown Hall on Sunday 12th July at 11:30am after Dillonstown Mass.
