Hunterstown Rovers proved to be the more dominant team throughout the match. Scoring 0-06 in the opening 10 minutes without any reply from Na Piarsaigh. Glen Mathews got the scoring underway for the home side a minute, quickly followed by points from Brendan Lennon, from an acute angle, & Paul Carrie, both points coming in the 2nd minute. Ryan Burns extended the Rovers lead scoring 3 consecutive points. An unfortunate lapse in Hunterstowns concentration saw them concede a goal reducing the deficit to 3 points. Hunterstown extended their lead even further by scoring 0-04 in the next 5 minutes. Scores coming from Ryan Burns ( 0-01), Paul Carrie (0-02), Brendan Lennon (0-01) & a brilliant point from Ryan Ward from in an around the 40 metre line, put 7 points between the two teams. Na Piarsaigh broke through an impeccable Hunterstown defence to score their first point in the 15th minute. Things got worse for Na Piarsaigh, when their goalkeeper was given a black card in the 22nd minute. Hunterstown secured another 3 points before half time, Ryan Burns ( 0-02) & Glen Mathews ( 0-01).

Ryan Burns got the scoring underway in the 2nd half for the home side 6 minutes into the half. This was followed by 2 points from Na Piarsaigh in the 8th & 10th minute. Hunterstown continued to extend their lead scoring 1-02 in 2 minutes, with scores from Ryan Burns ( 0-01), Ryan Ward (0-01) & a great goal from Glen Mathews. Unfortunately this was to be the last time that Hunterstown got a score for the rest of the match. For the next 15 minutes Na Piarsaigh scored 0-07 points, putting immense pressure on the Hunterstown defence & closing the gap between both teams.
