Sheelan Shield: We won the Paddy Sheelan Shield last Thursday night in the Grove by one point in one of the best games seen there in good while. This game had everything, 35 scores, four goals, two penalties' one missed, great scores taken by both teams, six bookings one of which was for diving, yes diving, simulation, on a GAA pitch, absolutely priceless!  Anyway it didn't take away from the quality of the game from both sides and if we can put in performances like this for the rest of the season we will give any team problems in the senior ranks.

Team: David Eager; PJ Tuite, Conor Byrne, Keith Woods; Keith Ryan, Jason Carroll, Jackie Agnew; Dean Stanfield 0-1, Salem Rifaie 0-2; Andrew Sharkey 0-1, Niall Conlon 0-1(f), Cian Doyle 1-7(1f); Emmet Byrne, Conor McGill 0-1, Stuart Reynolds 0-6(5f,45).

Division 4C: We had a big win last Tuesday night in this competition that moved us into fourth in the table on score difference with three games remaining just two points behind the three teams above us.
Team: Leslie Walsh; David Neasy, Keith Woods, Jordon Bannon; David Hoey, Keith Ryan, TJ Doyle; Conor Kiernan 1-0, Micheal Cairns; Dean Corrigan 0-1, Niall Conlon 1-6, Conor McGill 1-1, Stefan O'Hanrahan, Conor Culligan 0-2, Stuart Reynolds 1-5(2f,45). Subs Ryan O'Hanrahan for S. O'Hanrahan, Cian Geeney 0-1 for D. Neasy, Brian Hanratty for L. Walsh, Jonathon Conlon 0-1 for N. Conlon.

Under 14: We played the Finbarrs on Wednesday night in the Grove and again we had a good few missing but we still managed 16 players which was good. A good evening but windy and the Finbarrs used the wind to their advantage and we're putting points over from good distances out. The Finbarrs have three lads on the Louth U14 development squad and these lads did stand out and were instrumental in all their scores in the 1st half. Although our defence were very good we still trailed at halftime on a score line of 0-0 to 1-10 which was not a fair reflection on our defence. These slow starts are becoming a trade mark for us and although it is worrying we certainly give the 2nd half a good go. Our midfield upped the effort and our forwards started showing more and our first score was a goal from Sean Reynolds followed by some well taken team points from play. We certainly dominated for 15min of the 2nd half and only for a slack goal from a goal mouth clearance the result may have been different. We outscored the Finbarrs 2-6 to 1-3 in the 2nd half but unfortunately it wasn't enough to claim the win. A special mention has to go to three players making there U14 debut for O' Connell's, Cailum Woods, Jack Dunne and Darragh Mc Donnell and all did very well and also to our other lads who played very well. In goals Anton Mc Areavy in defence Brendain Sadlier in midfield Lee Molloy and Jamie Molloy and up front Reece Reilly and Niall Kennedy. Final score in the Grove Finbarrs 2-13 O Connell's 2-6. Chaos ensues and they end up getting in way over their heads
