It was a glorious Sunday afternoon in Fr. McEvoy Park for Round 3 of the Division 2 League. It was a tough, fast paced, quick passing match, with some excellent scoring from Cooley Kickhams.

Cooley Kickhams got the scoring underway in the 1st minute, this was quickly cancelled out by a point from Glen Mathews a minute later. Cooley stepped up a gear scoring 1-03 with out reply from Hunterstown Rovers. Points from Paul Carrie, Glen Mathews & David Finn saw the visitors reduce the deficit to just a goal. For the next 4 minutes there was some great defensive from both teams. However, Hunterstown conceded a point with 10 minutes to go. Things looked good for Hunterstown with just 6 minutes before half-time they were awarded a penalty, with Paul Carrie stepping up to take it and kicking it straight at Cooley's goalie. This was quickly followed by 2 consecutive points from Cooley before half-time.

Hunterstown got the scoring underway with a free from Paul Carrie in the 31st minute. Closely followed by a Cooley point in the 32nd minute. It was full-forward Paul Carrie who reduced the gap between both teams scoring 1-01 in the space of 2 minutes. bringing the score to 1-06 to 1-08. Cooley got another 3 points on the scoreboard, followed by a free from Paul Carrie in the 47th minute. It didn't take Cooley long to reply back with a point in the 49th minute. Things looked good for Hunterstown with mid-fielder Ryan Ward scoring a goal in 51st minute, bringing the scoreline to 2-07 to 1-12, with under 10 minutes to go. However it was Cooley who finished with style scoring 2-02 in the last 7 minutes.
