Division 1: We got our first win on Sunday in the division 1 league after a hard match with the Dundalk Gaels. We got off to a great start with a goal in the first minute and increased that lead to eight points before we let the opposition back in to the game and only had a four point lead at half time. In the second half we never got more than two points ahead but at the same time we never looked like losing the lead. Inside the last ten minutes we pulled away from the Gaels and won by five points. The team played well and it's great to get the first win under the belt. We play Mattock Rangers next week away in Collon, throw in 3.00pm.
Team: Sean Connolly; Andrew Shields, Conor Byrne, Keith Woods 0-1; Keith Ryan, Andrew Sharkey, Jackie Agnew; Sean Cairns, Dean Stanfield; Emmet Byrne, Robert Quigley 0-2(45), Niall Conlon 1-1(f); Conor Culligan, Cian Doyle 1-4(4f), Stuart Reynolds 0-2(f(45). Subs Paul McKeever 0-1 for Culligan, Jason Carroll for Woods, Killian Shields for Doyle (BC).
Division 4C: We played our first game in this division last Tuesday night and narrowly lost by two points to the Glenn Emmets. Behind at the break 1-7 to 0-7 we quickly turned that around to lead by three points but the home side rallied and got back in front by one point and as hard as we tried we could just not get the equalizer and then went two behind. We had a goal chance right at the end but it went just wide of the post, however the team played well and it was only our first game.
Team: Sean Connolly; Declan Byrne, Keith Woods, Micheal Cairns; David Doyle, Keith Ryan, David Hoey; Sean Cairns, Stuart Reynolds 0-1(1f); Dean Corrigan 0-1, Niall Conlon 0-7(2f), Conor McGill; Stefan O'Hanrahan 0-1, Conor Culligan 1-1, Martin O'Mara 0-1. Under 12: Our under 12 team played their 1st game tonight 10/4/15 v Westerns/Sean's combination. Played in Stabannon we had 14 lads 8 of which are O Connell's. After a very slow and rusty 1St half we were 2-7 to 1-2 down at the break which left us with a mountain to climb in the 2nd half.  Sean Reynolds and Harry Butterly were our 1st half scorers. The break at half time give us a chance to iron out and discuss our problems and the team really up there performance. A goal by Darragh McDonnell early in 2nd half give the team a lifeline and they really kicked on from that with some great play and work rate. Our defense stood strong and only conceded a goal for the entire 2nd half and we deservingly ran out winners on a score line of 3-9 to 3 7.

The O Connells lads were as follows, in goals Ryan Mc Keown. In defense Dirmuid Martin, Tadgh Kearney, killian Wall. Midfield Jack Dunne. In forwards Calum Woods, Darragh Mc Donnell, Nathan Carragher.
