Louth champions Newtown Blues take on Offaly kingpins Ferbane/Belmont

The Éire Óg Leinster minor club tournament final takes place on Sunday next December 21st in Pairc Uí Bhríain, Carlow. One of the best finals in recent years is forecasted with two top class teams in action. Louth champions Newtown Blues take on Offaly kingpins Ferbane/Belmont in what should be a closely fought affair. Newtown Blues disposed of Tinryland (Carlow) and St Peters Dunboyne (Meath) on their way to the final while Ferbane/Belmont had victories over Portarlington (Laois) and Sarsfields (Kildare).

While a team from Offaly are hoping to win this tournament for the second year in succession (Shamrocks winning the title last year) no team has yet been able to defend the title since its introduction in 2003. Previous winners are 2003: Kilmacud Crokes, Dublin. 2004: St. Josephs, Wicklow: 2005. Heath, Laois. 2006: Cuala, Dublin. 2007: St Brigids, Dublin. 2008: Donaghmore/Ashbourne, Meath. 2009: Na Fianna, Dublin. 2010: Athy, Kildare. 2011: Celbridge, Kildare. 2012: Round Towers, Kildare. 2013: Shamrocks, Offaly.

Throw in time for the "Ger Hosey" cup is 2pm and admission is just €3.
