Division 4E Result:

17/11/14

Glencarrick 1-3 ; O' Donnell's 5-12

After the debacle of last week, behind us, we lined out again in Division 4E this time at home to the O'Donnell's but to say things went from bad to worse would be an understatement, with Matt McDonald out through concussion and Conor McPhillips failing to show up, we again were severely understrength.  Although a mixture of young and old were fielded we failed to make any mark on the game, county minor panelist Jamie Rothwell started at full-forward and we expected to give the O'Donnell's a decent game but mistakes all over the field caused us dearly and FAS man Patsy Farrell standing in goals struggled with the high ball with 3 of the goals going in over his head. One moment that stuck out for all the wrong reasons was when Seamus Thornton had a momentary lapse of concentration when he won the ball  at the throw in for the second half and ran the whole way towards our own goal and kicked the ball over the bar, in all my years as PRO i never witnessed such a moment. Relegation is almost  a certainty now, we have St Phidelma's next weekend and anything else but a win will seal our fate.

Team: Patsy Farrell, Frank Sheridan, Jimmy Finnegan, Gerry Finnegan, Paddy McCabe, Peter Freeman, Eddie Murray, Mike Hunt, Seamus Thornton, Ibrahim Okeke, Darren McNeill (0-3f), Fergie McNally, Raymond Durneen, Jamie Rothwell, Rob Lynn (1-0). Subs Darren Murray for Thornton (32min).

A big thanks to all who helped retrieve the goalposts from Michael McDonaghs field after they were swept away during the floods last week.

Our U12 team managed by Larry Murty are out in Louth U12 Inter County Football Blitz Phase 1 Divisional Championship in Darver this Saturday night, all support welcome.
