The M Donnelly GAA All-Ireland Poc Fada finals have been rescheduled for Sunday, August 24.

The event on Annaverna Mountain in Cooley, Co. Louth was postponed for the first time in its 51-year history last Saturday due to adverse weather conditions.

All of the 23 competitors were present when the organisers decided to call off the event on health and safety grounds.

"It was the right call to make," eight-time senior hurling Poc Fada champion and former Tipperary goalkeeper Brendan Cummins said.

"The weather conditions are just too bad. We'll go at it again in three weeks' time."
