Championship: We went out of the senior championship on Sunday night with a two point loss to Mattock in a game we could have and may be should have won. With ten minutes to go we were three points up and looked in control but a goal from the Collon men brought them level and they outscored us in the last few minutes and went through to the quarter final. It was disappointing and now we are in the relegation playoff's where we will play Naomh Mairtin and a win is a must to preserve our senior championship status. On another note the standard of the officiating at the game on the night hit an all time low for a senior championship match, baffling decisions, bookings for nothing, points given and then disallowed and it is now a free kick against you if you block the ball with your hands. Surely these new rules should be made known to clubs as soon as possible. The powers that be don't seem to care so it's only a matter of time until the players don't care and turn their back on the game and move to another sport.
