Ardee CS celebrate their North Leinster Senior C final win over Heywood.
Mark Gilsenan says he couldn't be prouder of his Ardee Community School team.

After seeing his side narrowly beaten by Colaiste Ghobnatan in Saturday's All-Ireland PPS 'C' final in Portlaoise, Gilsenan had nothing but positive words for the players:

"We kept battling and we really can't be any prouder of the boys," he told The Dundalk Democrat.

"They have put in great effort and they really should be very proud of themselves in getting the school to an All-Ireland final for the first time and the first Louth school to do it.

"They have to be happy with what they achieved, winning three cups this year. If you had offered them that at the start of the year, well they wouldn't have turned it down.

"But, after all the hard work that we put in, we really would have loved to have managed to win it."
