Louth unhappy over minor venue decision

May 26, 2011

Pairc Tailteann Navan will host the Leinster MFC quarter final clash with Meath and Louth.
Relations between Louth and Meath have not been the best since last year and the news that the Wee County have lost home advantage for the counties' meeting in the Leinster MFC has been met with frustration.

Last year's much publicised Leinster final fiasco caused a division between the two neighbouring counties and intensified the rivalry that was already there.

However, Louth gained some degree of revenge by defeating the Royals 1-13 to 1-11 in an earlier round of the Leinster minor championship, which was played at Haggardstown.

The sides are now due to meet again in the Leinster semi final on Wednesday June 29th at 7pm with Haggardstown once again being touted as the venue, but in a dramatic change the game will now be played at Pairc Tailteann, Navan, handing Meath home advantage.

Louth are reported to be unhappy over the matter and are to contact Croke Park to clarify why the game has been switched.

On the same evening in Parnell Park, Dublin and Kildare meet in what is a repeat of the last year's quarterfinal when it took three games to seperate the sides before the Lilywhites came out victorious.
