Leitrim GAA are in the perilous position of starting 2017 without a County Board Treasurer.

The Connacht county find themselves in the predicament after current treasurer Brian Gordon announced that he is standing down from the position after four years.

However, no nominations have been received ahead of the annual convention which takes place next Monday night.

The Leitrim Observer reports that the county board are hoping that there will be a late nomination.

Otherwise they face into the New Year with the uncertainty of who will take up what is one of the most important roles in the executive.
