Connacht JFC: Galway and Mayo advance to decider

May 04, 2016

The Super 8s Phase 3 clash between Donegal and Tyrone in Ballybofey has been sold out

Galway and Mayo will contest the Connacht junior football championship final after coming through their respective semi-finals this evening.

The Tribesmen overcame a shaky start against Leitrim in Tuam to record a 1-15 to 1-7 win, as Antaine O Laoi's first-half goal saw them recover from the concession of an early major and points from Matthew Reddington and Niall Lee helped to ensure the victory.

Meanwhile in Enniscorne, Mayo were pushed all the way by Sligo as goals proved the ultimate difference for the Heather County in a 2-8 to 2-5 triumph.

The final will be played on May 22nd at a venue yet to be decided.
