Glancy delighted with win

St Mary's boss Kevin Glancy was full of praise for his player last Saturday, after they'd led their club to a tenth county senior hurling crown in as many years. "I'm just relieved because we knew with the weather it wasn't going to be easy today and we knew we wouldn't get anything easy from Manor either," said Glancy. "I'm very pleased for the lads because most of the team and panel put in a big effort this year and I'm just delighted for them that they've gone into the history books." Glancy had special praise in reserve for hid midfielder Padraig McWeeney, who popped up with a pair of crucial scores when it really mattered for the defending champions. "We knew it was going to be a grinding session and that was how it turned out. With the conditions and the weather, it wasn't going to be a game for frills. We got the couple of goals at crucial times in each half. "Padraig McWeeney got two classy points that took the pressure off when we needed the scores. And I think that has always been the way over the years, we always seem to get the scores when we needed them and that happened again today."
