Clare manager Davy Fitzgerald is adamant that his charges will not be taking Laois for granted in their All-Ireland SHC qualifier.

The sides meet at Cusack Park, Ennis and Clare will go into the match as strong favourites to progress to the next round.

Fitzgerald acknowledges that they are favourites to come through but added that on their day, Laois will trouble a lot of sides.

"We realise that we carry the favourites' tag into Saturday's game but we are not taking anything for granted," Fitzgerald told the Clare Champion.

"We have found it hard against Laois in recent meetings and they have made things difficult for a number of teams, including Galway, in the Leinster SHC last year."
