Armagh have been handed a lifeline and manager Kieran McGeeney is calling on his players to take their chances.

The SFC Qualifier between the Orchard County and Laois has been refixed for Saturday afternoon in Portlaoise and 2002 All-Ireland winning captain McGeeney admits his team will have to be more economical in front of the posts than they were in the original fixture on June 18th.

Armagh only scored ten points that day and lost by three but were handed a reprieve after it emerged that their opponents had accidentally made one substitution too many.

"We did not take our chances and our shot selection was poor at times," Geeney comments in The Belfast Telegraph.

"We had Laois trimmed back to a point and then we had four or five attacks but didn't make them count. We have to be able to take chances if we are to go forward and we certainly hope to make the most of this second bite at the cherry, although Laois will feel exactly the same way."
