Laois' John O'Loughlin

Laois midfielder John O'Loughlin will miss the O'Moore County's next two league games due to a broken finger.

With the midlanders already looking like relegation favourites after Sunday's disappointing defeat to Galway, O'Loughlin is set to sit out the crucial NFL Division Two clashes with Ulster rivals Armagh and Tyrone.

The injury was initially suffered a fortnight ago but O'Loughlin aggravated it during the home game against the Tribesmen last weekend and had to depart at half time.

"I have had the X-ray and it's a chip fracture that I have sustained in the knuckle area," he confirmed in The Irish Independent. "It actually happened in a game a few weeks ago but I thought I'd be able to play through it with painkillers. I didn't want to miss any league matches."
